Black River Kayaking - South of Lake Arbutus

The Black River - South of Lake Arbutus - is a waterway with quite a variety of surroundings. The Black River immediately south of the Lake Arbutus Dam in Hatfield is a sight to behold when water is being released, but this is the type of paddling waters we will leave to the experts. However, there is a nice trail from Clay School Road and it is well worth the hike to see the power of the water when it is flowing.

The Black River Waterway - South of Lake Arbutus begins, for us, at the County Road K Bridge, and ends at the boat ramp just above the dam in Black River Falls. It contains five separate legs with varying degrees of difficulty.
